The Terra

Size 11, close at the base. Two years of daily wear and the blasted surface has held its coarseness everywhere except directly under the finger, where it has gone slightly smooth. Not visible on the hand.

Ordered a 9 and it's fit at the base since the day it arrived, over the knuckle without soap. Nothing to exchange, nothing to email about.

I was leaning on a brick wall outside a pub and looked down to find the ring almost the same tone as the brick. Size 10, close at the base. It had come boxed with a sizing gauge and a cloth, though the cloth does very little on a blasted finish.

My brother chose it for me. Three years of daily wear and the blasted face has only smoothed where it sits against the palm, which means the top still has the texture it left with. Holding up.

My husband picked this to replace the polished band I had worn since 2017, in the same size 7. It sits identically on the finger, but where the old one showed every scratch, the blasted surface here has nothing to show.

Straight out of the box this felt coarser than the Enso band I had been wearing, so I emailed to ask whether it smooths out. They said the blast holds and only the contact point softens. A week later that was already visible, exactly as described.

My titanium band was grey and that was that. This one is warm enough that it reads brown in some light, which is the practical difference and the reason I would buy it again. Only reservation, blasted surfaces hold hand cream and need an occasional rinse.

I raised my hand during our March ceremony and the ring did not flash, which in a stone church with high windows was exactly right. The blast scatters light instead of returning it. My father said afterwards it was the first wedding band he had seen that did not catch the eye.

The first thing on opening it was the feel: dry and slightly chalky under a thumb rather than slick, which is not what a metal ring usually does. Size 12, worn daily for eight months since, and the fit has not shifted.

A year of daily wear before I would say anything, and the blasted texture has held everywhere that shows. The tone has warmed very slightly rather than going grey.

The blasting is on the outer face only; the inside is polished and domed. Nothing about the texture reaches skin. It has been on daily since last spring.

In photographs I thought it looked unfinished, like a raw casting. The moment was putting it on and seeing that against skin the warm tone reads as deliberate rather than incomplete. Size 11, worn daily for ten months since with no change in fit.
