The Titan

My brother ordered it and it turned up in four days. The band is 10mm wide and solid through rather than hollowed to save weight, which you can tell by setting it down on a table and listening.

Size 12, close at the base. The outside is flat across the full 10mm and the inside is domed, so it looks wide and wears narrow. That is the trick.

A 10mm band I tried at Zales had flat inner edges and was unwearable. This one, worn since our September wedding in a size 13, is domed inside, and that is the entire difference between a wide band you can wear and one you cannot.

Day one I genuinely thought it was too much. By our October wedding a week later I had stopped noticing the weight, and the flat 10mm face gave the photographer something to work with in the close shots. Only reservation, it does not go under a tight glove.

A 14 is a size I struggle to find, and my wife ordered it without fuss. It arrived and fit at the base. The edges are squared rather than rounded, deliberately.

It got passed round the table at a dinner in November and every person commented on the weight before anything else. Size 13, close at the base, and it clears the knuckle without soap despite the width.

The Fossil band I wore before was 8mm, lighter, and pressed at the edges. This is 10mm at around 22 grams and does not, because the inner edges are rolled over rather than left square. Weight has nothing to do with comfort in my experience.

The box is larger than most because the ring itself is, and it's the first thing you notice on opening. Size 13, on at the base first go. It came with a sizing gauge and a cloth.

My wife gave it to me and I assumed 22 grams would come off within a week. The moment was on day four, catching myself not thinking about it. It balances flat because the width is even, which is why the weight stops registering.

I had worn the wide Enso band and it always felt like a cuff. This one is 10mm too, but the inside is domed and the inner edges are rolled, so the contact area is much narrower than the ring is. That is why one is comfortable and the other was not.

It comes in at about 22 grams, which is more than double the band it replaced, and it balances flat because the width is even the whole way round. Three years of daily wear and the only change is a softening of the edges where they meet the palm.
